Add a Microsoft email account to Microsoft Outlook (Win 11)

This guide will help you add a Microsoft email account to Microsoft Outlook desktop app in Windows 11. By following these steps, you can quickly connect your account, customise your settings, and even set up mobile access with ease.

Click on the **Outlook** Desktop app

Outlook will search your computer for Microsoft accounts

If Outlook finds the Microsoft account you want to add, click **Connect** Otherwise, type in the email address and then click **Connect**

Type in your password and then click **Sign in**

If this is the only Microsoft account that you use on your computer and you want it to be used everywhere, click **Next** Otherwise, click **Microsoft apps only** to use it with Microsoft Outlook only or if unsure

You have successfully added the Microsoft account to Outlook If you want to add another account, type it into the 'Add another email address' Otherwise, if you want to also add the account to your mobile, leave the box ticked for "Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone too" and then click **Done**

If you left ticked "Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone too", then you will be directed to a website page to download the Outlook app on either Android or Apple iOS. Recommend scanning the QR Code to add the app to your mobile. Close the web browser when done with the **X** top right.

You will see Outlook Loading Profile, Loading Outlook and lastly Retrieving mailbox settings

Outlook will now open and prompt you to Choose a theme, select the theme you want and then click OK You might also see the notification from Outlook (classic) "Microsoft Outlook, Outlook is setting up a local copy of your mailbox. It may be several minutes until..."

You should now see emails coming into the Inbox, once complete you should see "All folders are up to date" in the status bar at the bottom.
