Navigate to your Course's Canvas home page. 

I have created a practice assignment here I want to add a citation to. Let's click on that assignment. 

Click "Edit" to make changes to the assignment. 

Click on this icon here to add the citation. 

Click "View All" to see the different options. 

Click the checkbox for the items that you would like to add to the assignment. You can also change the link label and the bibliography style if you like. 

Once you are happy with your selections, select "add." 

You can now see it in your module with the link option you chose.

Click "Save & Publish" if you are ready for students to see it. Or save if you are still working on your course.

This is how the student will see the assignment. They can click on the link I created and will be taken to your reading list where this book is listed.
