Tip! This guide uses the HSNO module to explain how tasks are managed within BMIS, but the process is the same for all modules.

New Remedial actions can be added manually, but are also added from other features in BMIS such as inspections tools and through automated processes for actions that needed to be repeated at a fixed frequency.

You can monitor activities from the 'Remedial Actions' table. To access this from the building/Location dashboard, click on the 'Remedial Actions' title in the left pane.

Items with a due date in red text are overdue items.

To add a new action manually, click the 'Remedial Action' button in the top right corner.

Complete the details of the action. The fields 'Title,' 'Type,' and 'Due Date' are mandatory. You can also add a note if you wish.

By clicking the 'Type' section, you'll be prompted with a dropdown menu containing the different action categories available.

Tip! Some modules also enable users to place the Remedial Task on a Floor Plan or Layout Plan. The following steps explain this process using the red colour scheme.

If there is a known ID number or identifier, this field can be used to collect this as a reference. Enter this into the "External ID" field.

Select the Floor/Layout to draw the task onto the plan.

You can choose to mark on the plan using pre-configured SVG icons, or choose simple polygon or line tools to draw the location of the task on the plan. Only one shape can be drawn, and the other tasks are also shown on the plan for reference.

In this case, we are choosing to add an icon to mark the location of the task.

Click on the plan to place the icon, then drag, rotate and scale the icon to position it correctly.

You can also add a label to the point. To do so, click the text tool. The default text will be the external ID, but can be updated, select the text size and colour, then click 'use'.

Click on the Plan to place the label, then use the move, scale and rotate tools to place the label.

To save this action, click the 'Submit' button.

You will see a message confirming that the Remedial Action has been created successfully.

By clicking on the action row, you'll open the notes saved in that action.
