Adding New Commission and Deduction Adjustments for Agents

This guide explains how to add **commission and deduction adjustments** for agents in Loft47. Commissions recognize agent earnings, while deductions capture adjustments, corrections, or agreed-upon reductions. Loft47 allows you to add new adjustments without changing past entries, helping keep your records accurate and consistent.

Loft47

To record an agent’s **prior paid amount toward a cap** in Loft47: Open the **Agent Profile** in Loft47.\ Scroll to **Deduction Adjustments**.\ Click **"New"**.

Select the relevant deduction template first.\ Enter the Adjustment date.\ Enter the amount already paid.\ Click **Save**.\ \ **Note:** \ **Adjustment Date** - the date when the new deduction adjustment start applying\ **Net** - adjustment amount for the deduction\ **Tax** - tax amount on adjustment if applicable\ **Property Type** - Residential or Commercial\ **Deduction Template** - If this adjustment is tied to a specific template, pick that deduction template from the dropdown.

Click the "Date" field. **Adjustment Date** is the date when the new commission adjustment start applying.

Select the date.

Click the "Ends" field. **Ends** is the deal count.

**Commission Net** - gross commission before tax\ **Commission Tax** - tax amount on commission if applicable\ **Side** - Listing or Selling side\ **Property Type** - Residential or Commercial

**Volume** - Agent’s total deal volume (total sales volume) up to and including the adjustment date.\ **Team** - Select agent's team if any.

Click **Save.**

Tip! - You can **add, modify, or delete adjustments** as needed. Past entries remain unchanged, helping preserve accurate and consistent historical records. - **Double-check all amounts** before saving to avoid errors. - Keep a **description and log of adjustments** for transparency and future reference.

The **Commissions Net** amount shown under **Agent Profile > Financials** includes commission adjustments. Therefore, the **1099/T4 total net amount** also includes these commission adjustments, minus any deductions configured to reduce the agent’s 1099/T4A amount.
