Adding People to Loft

Learn how to add and organize people in Loft47, choose the correct profile types, and link organizations and payable names for accurate payments and tax documents.

Go to your Brokerage

Click "People"

Click **New** to add any contacts to your Brokerage. \ This is where you manage your brokerage’s contact database.

Use the **Profile Type** filter to narrow the list by **Agent, Broker, Admin, Profile, Buyer/Seller, or Organization.**

To view your agents, select **Agent** under **Profile Type**. You can further narrow your search by selecting their **Status** (Active or Inactive) and **Office**.

Click "New" to start adding the profile.

Loft47 has below profile type:\ **Contact, Buyer/Seller, Admin, Office Admin, Agent, Broker, or Organization.**

In this example, we’ll walk through how to add an in-house agent profile.\ Select Type "**Agent**"

**Note**: Select **Contact** as the Profile Type when adding an external contact, such as someone from a title company or another brokerage.

Since we’re adding an in-house agent in this example, select Agent's **Office** to add to his profile.

Enter Agent's Name.

**Organization Name**: If your agent receives 1099 or T4A tax documents under an organization’s name, enter the **Organization Name**. Otherwise, leave this field blank. In this example, Louise Johnson’s organization is **Johnson LLC**, so we’ll type that name. If the organization doesn’t already exist in Loft47, it will be created automatically.

Enter Agent's email address.

**Payable Name:** Select the organization name if the agent has an organization, so payments are issued to and linked to the correct entity. If the agent doesn’t have an organization, leave it as **Profile Name**.

Add Agent's SSN/SIN number if any.

Add Agent's Corporation Active Date.

Enter the agent’s contact details, including phone number, birthday, address, and any other relevant information.

Enable "**Tax Filing"** so agent can download their 1099 or T4A from their profile.

Click "**Save**" to save the contact.

**Tip!** \ Use **Agent**, **Broker**, or **Admin** for people within your brokerage. \ \ If you’re adding someone from outside your brokerage who is involved in a deal, such as an external agent, enter them as a **Contact** and include their organization, if applicable.

If you search for **Johnson**, you’ll see two profiles: the **Johnson LLC** organization and the **Louise Johnson** agent profile in your Brokerage People. If another agent belongs to the same organization, apply **Johnson LLC** as their organization name and select **Johnson LLC** as their Payable Name so payments are issued to the same organization.

**Creating an organization** follows a similar process to adding a contact. Click **New**, select **Organization** as the Profile Type, enter the organization’s details, and **save** the profile.

Once you’ve added the organization, for example, click **ABC Title Company** to open its profile.

You can view the **Organization’s Members** here if any contacts have been assigned to the organization.

**That’s it!** You’ve successfully added people to your brokerage in Loft47.
