Only your Telstra email address or associated alias will work when signing in to the webmail portal. Your email address or alias usually looks something like [johnsmith@bigpond.com](mailto:johnsmith@bigpond.com), [johnsmith@bigpond.net](mailto:johnsmith@bigpond.net) or johnsmith. Other types of email addresses you may have used when creating your Telstra ID such as [johnsmith@gmail.com](mailto:johnsmith@gmail.com) will not work when accessing your Telstra email account.

Navigate to <https://email.telstra.com/> to go to Telstra webmail page

Type in your Bigpond (Telstra) email address, then click **Continue**

Type in the Password for that email account, then click **Sign in**

Click on the hamburger menu symbol

Click on the 9 dots

Click **Settings**

Click on the hamburger menu symbol

Click **Accounts**

Click on the **CHANGE PASSWORD** button

Click "Username"

Press [[Ctrl]] + [[V]]

Type in your username which is the part of your email address before the @bigpond.com For instance, if your email address is john@bigpond.com, you would type in john Then click on the **Send Link** button

You will then receive a reset password email which will allow you to change the password.

Once you are finished, it's always best to sign out of Telstra webmail by clicking the hamburger menu symbol

Then the down triangle symbol next to your Telstra email address

Then click **Sign out**
