Ensure the "**Help Center**" option is selected and then upload a logo.

Pick your company logo that will get displayed on your knowledge base

Click the "**🚀 Product Template**" option. You're using this option so that you can use a pre-built template from HelpKit that includes common knowledge base categories and also includes data (allowing you to get a feel for how HelpKit works).

Click this "**Duplicate**" button in Notion. This will duplicate the template to your Notion account and workspace.

Select the preferred location in Notion for your knowledge base template.

Head back to HelpKit and click "**I have done this**"

Head back to the duplicated template in Notion and click "**Share**"

Click this icon to copy this Notion site link.

Paste the Notion site URL from your clipboard into this field and then click "**Connect**"

Click "**Last step→**"  on the pop-up that appears. This is just showing you the overarching structure of your knowledge base.

You can skip the product updates and tour for this part of the lesson if prompted.

The first thing you can do is view the knowledge base you've just created. \

Click "**View my site →**" and your knowledge base will open up in a new browser tab.

Head back to your HelpKit dashboard and follow these instructions to write your first knowledge base article and sync it to HelpKit. \
\
Click "**Edit in Notion →**"

Within Notion, click the "**Open**" button within the "**Getting Started**" collection.\
\
All we're doing here is adding an example post in the easiest place possible for testing. However if you're feeling comfortable with managing content in Notion databases at this point, feel free to experiment with adding, removing and editing other content items in this knowledge base while you're here.

Click this icon to add a new article inside the "Getting Started" collection. It will be added to the table below.

Add some example information to the knowledge base article and then click this icon.\

Note: Make sure the "Published" checkbox is ticked so that your example page will appear published within your knowledge base.

Head back to your HelpKit dashboard and click "**Sync now**"

Head back to the knowledge base in your browser tab, refresh the page and click the "**Getting Started**" collection.

You should now see the new example article you've added to your knowledge base!

HelpKit also offers the functionality to publish your knowledge bases via your own custom domains. \
\
To do this, just click "**Add custom domain →**"  from within your dashboard and then follow the instructions.
