Create a Sub-Entity Dataset v1.5

Learn how to generate sub-entity datasets within your breeding program experiments. This guide provides a step-by-step walkthrough for adding a sub-entity dataset for experiments within DeltaBreed.

Create a sub-entity dataset to support collection of nested observations and accepting repeated measures in your experiment. For example, record plant level measurements within plots, so that plant values can be used to calculate plot phenotypic means and variance.

Select the experiment you wish to add a sub-entity dataset to.

Select "Create Sub-Entity Dataset".

Enter both the sub-entity name as well as the number of repeated measures you wish to collect. Please note that once you have created a sub-entity name, you must use that name each time. We do not recommended using alternatives such as petals.

Note that sub-entity dataset includes top-level plant and nested petal Observation Unit IDs (ObsUnitID).
