    Navigate to [https://hello.dubsado.com/dashboard](https://hello.dubsado.com/dashboard)

    CREATE YOUR EMAIL TEMPLATES

    Click "Templates".
    Click "Canned Emails"

    Contract Signed, Invoice NOT Paid

    Click "New Canned Response"
Create a canned email to use as a payment reminder when someone has accepted your proposal/signed your contract, but has NOT paid their first payment *Make sure to include the Invoice Link smart field so they can easily pay.*
    Click "Save & Close"

    Payment Due Soon

    Click "New Canned Response"
Create an email template for notifying your clients when they have an upcoming payment due. I recommend NOT specifying a number of days, and instead just using the smart field for the due date, that way you can use this on all payment plans. *Make sure to include the Invoice Link smart field so they can easily pay.*
    Click "Save & Close"

    Payment Due Today

    Click "New Canned Response"
Create an email template notifying your client that they have a payment due TODAY. *Make sure to include the Invoice Link smart field so they can easily pay.*
    Click "Save & Close"

    Payment Past Due

    Click "New Canned Response"
Write an email template notifying your client that they are past due on a payment and letting them know what will happen if they do not remit payment promptly. Note that Dubsado cannot automatically apply any kind of late fee, so this is more for encouraging the client to pay rather than describing what Dubsado will actually do on its own. *Make sure to include the Invoice Link smart field so they can easily pay.*
    Click "Save & Close"

    CREATE THE PAYMENT PLAN TEMPLATE

    Click "Templates"
    Click "Payment Plans"
    Click "Create new template"
Rename your Payment Plan as appropriate.
    Click "Add installment"

    Installment #1

Click "(TBD) - Click to set due date"
    Click "Relative"
Click "after contract signed by client"
    Click "Add reminder"
Change the number field to a 1-3 days, your choice.
Change this field to "after due date"
Select your canned email template for the first payment not being paid.
    Click "Apply"

    Installment 2

    Click "Add installment"
Click "(TBD) - Click to set due date"
    Click the "Relative" field.
Change the number field to "30" (or however many days before the event that's correct).
    Click "Add reminder"
Change the number to the number of days BEFORE the payment is due that you want to send your first reminder.
Select your canned email template for "Payment Due Soon".
    Click "Apply"
    Click "Add reminder"
This modal defaults to "0 days before project start date", so you don't need to update anything in that section.
Select your canned email template for "Payment Due Today".
    Click "Apply"
    Click "Add reminder"
Click this number field - change it to the number of days AFTER the due date that you want to send your first "past due" notice.
    Click "after due date"
Select your canned email template for "Payment Past Due".
    Click "Apply"
Tip! Repeat the Past Due steps for as many reminders as you want to program in. Clients will only receive these reminders if they HAVE NOT PAID, so don't be shy about the number you create!
Repeat this for as many installments as are included.
