Begin your article page by adding a title and hero options.

If you're new to the RCCL, the article content type features [multiple hero options](https://rccldemo.rutgers.edu/rccl-user-guide/components#tab=panel-2&chapter=news-heroes-200) for different scenarios. Review the examples as you build your page.

Fill out the author, source, and media contact information as needed.

The [[media contact field]] references [Person content type](https://rccldemo.rutgers.edu/people/test-person-1) entries in the CMS. If you require a media contact, a Person entry needs to be created beforehand.

The article summary should be a concise description (a couple of sentences at most). The summary is only displayed when the article is viewed inside [news related components](https://rccldemo.rutgers.edu/rccl-user-guide/components#tab=panel-5) or on [news category pages](https://rccldemo.rutgers.edu/news/categories/news-topic-taxonomy-1).

Select your primary / secondary topic (s) and optional CLU / Unit terms.

To setup categories for different types of articles and locations, go to [[Structure &gt; Taxonomy &gt; Topic]] and [[Structure &gt; Taxonomy &gt; Campus Location]], respectively, in the content management system.

After the initial article information is entered, you are ready to flesh out your article using page components. The article content type features a small subset of available RCCL components. Review the [article demo page](https://rccldemo.rutgers.edu/news/article-3-featured) to learn more.

When you're happy with the body of your article, finish the page by adding an optional sticky promo.

The related content feature appears at the bottom of the article and automatically displays the three latest articles from the same topic category. If left blank, the related content title will default to "You May Also Like".

To share an article with other RCCL sites (assuming [content syndication](https://rccldemo.rutgers.edu/node/45) is enabled), check the [[Share for Syndication]] box at the bottom of the article's editing screen.

To mark an article as featured, check the [[Featured]] box on the article's editing screen under [[Promotion options]]. Featured articles display more prominently inside [news related components](https://rccldemo.rutgers.edu/rccl-user-guide/components#tab=panel-5).

When you're done building your page, give one final preview before committing and saving your changes. You can keep your page in draft mode (only visible to logged in users) or publish the page for all users.

Always write good revision notes before saving so you can easily reference previous page versions.
