**Custom fields** help capture important data that isn’t already built into the system, such as information required by the investor for commercial loans or investment loans. These custom fields can also be used as parameters and added to the form you created.

To create a custom field, the system administrator can go to **Settings**

**Label**: Enter the name or title of the custom field, displayed to users (e.g., "EIN" or "Referral Source").

**Parameter Type - Value:** Indicates the field stores the user-entered data, such as a name or number.

**Type- String:** Specifies that the field accepts text input (letters, numbers, symbols).

Then, click the blank field in **Sections**:\
Select the sections within the loan file where the custom field should appear. You can assign the field to multiple sections as needed.

Click **Provider Identifiers** to Connect with Integrated Partners (If Applicable)

Click **Permissions** to Configure User Roles for Viewing and/or Managing Custom Fields

**Toggle** Permissions On or Off for Each User Role, or Use the **Check All** or '**Uncheck All** Box

Click **Permission Manage** to enable or disable the user's ability to edit this custom field.

Click **Save** to finalize the custom field settings.

Here is a breakdown of the parameter types available:

- **List**: A collection of selectable options in a defined order.
- **Range**: A continuous set of values within a defined minimum and maximum.
- **Table**: Structured data in rows and columns.
- **Value**: A single data point or input.
