Drag and Drop is a great way to get metadata embedded in Assets that were not shot orginally in ShotFlow Capture. These could be assets shot on location, assets from a vendor, color-corrected assets, etc.

In your Brand App, create a Shot List for your Drag & Drop shot records. Assign the shot records to the Drag & Drop Shot List.

Assign the Shot List to any Set that is not currently in use.

Open "ShotFlow Capture"

Click "Login"

Choose your Studio from the dropdown list and click "Select"

Choose the set you are working on for this session from the dropdown.

Click "Select"

Find the Shot List and then the Shot you want to use to update the existing asset. Select the green circle under the shot record and connect it to CaptureOne.

Click "Connected"

Locate your original asset.

Drag the actual asset file on top of the Shot that has the data you want to embed in your existing asset. You will see a green circle with a plus sign and then you can let the asset go.

Navigate to where your CaptureOne session folder is saved, and you will see that there is a new asset file and an XMP sidecar file. The image is the same as the existing one, but this new file is now named correctly, and once it is processed out of CaptureOne, it will have the embedded metadata as if the asset was shot with Capture. The shot record will also be updated on the platform.

Mark the Shot complete when you are done. Mark the Shot List complete once all Shots are done.

Process your newly created assets from CaptureOne to embed the XMP data into your photo file.
