Tip! A HSNO Location can be categorized into 1 of 3 categories, which is displayed on the location dashboard.

An HSL, Hazardous Substance Location is set when one or more of the substances triggers a control that required the site to have a location compliance certificate.

An SCS, Stationary container system, is set when one or more of the substances triggers a control that required the site to have a Stationary container system compliance certificate.

An SSP, Substance Storage Point, is the default location type for locations which hold HSNO substances, but don't require a location compliance certificate or Stationary container system compliance certificate.

Some sites can be both HSL and SCS.

Alert! The location type is set automatically when an inventory is imported or updated. Be careful when updating these values, as certain compliance processes must be followed for HSL & SCS sites.

To edit the Building HSNO details, click "HSNO Information" on the top tabs of the "Location Settings" screen.

You can choose the type of HSNO location for the building.

By ticking the "SCS" box, a form will appear for you to fill in with the HSNO details.

If you tick the "HSL" box, a dropdown menu will display the different system types you can choose from.

By toggling the "HSNO Only" option, you will restrict the location data to the HSNO module of BMIS. This means the location won't be included within other BMIS modules.

Tip! Draft mode for locations allows you to create and/or import HSNO inventories in order to find out what controls will be required as part of HSNO site establishment planning. All data can be setup in the module in draft mode, and then the location can be set to 'live' once all processes and compliance data information is in place.

Draft mode is a way to enter all the information and see what controls will be required without sending any emails or including the information in the dashboards. You can activate this mode by toggling the button on.
