How to Add/Remove a Member to an Organization

This guide walks admins through managing organization membership. It covers inviting new members, assigning roles and licenses, and removing users who are no longer affiliated. This step-by-step resource ensures smooth setup and accurate access control for your organization.

From the admin account, go to **My Organizations** in the left-side menu and select your organization.

In the **Members** tab, click **+ Add New Member** at the top right.

Select the available License cluster

Enter one or multiple email addresses in the **Enter email** field.

Click **Add** to confirm each email.

(Optional) Add a custom message to the invite or leave it blank, then click **Send Invite**.\ The invited members will receive an email to complete their registration by following the [Teacher Account and Profile Setup for Organizations](https://scribehow.com/viewer/Teacher_Account_and_Profile_Setup_for_Organizations__q3tfUBxQRyCeIwW-bobamw).

Please note, you can invite as many users as you have available licenses for.

Return to the **All Members** tab to locate the newly added member.

To change a member’s role, click the **pencil icon** on their card.

Select a role: - **Teacher** – access courses and lessons. - **Admin** – manage members, organization settings, courses, roles, and messages. - **Editor** – edit courses or access messages.

To assign a license, click the **three dots** on the top right of a member’s card.

Select **Manage accesses** from the dropdown menu.

Under **Actions**, select **Grant access** to activate a license. This finalizes the member’s role access.

Click **Confirm** to apply the license update.

When a member’s card displays the purple banner, their account setup is complete from the admin side.

To remove a member who is no longer affiliated, open their card and click the **three dots** for more options.

Select **Disable User**. This action will disable the member access from the platform and revoke their license.

To support more accurate analytics and preserve historical platform data, we have renamed the Remove User functionality to Disable User. When a user is disabled, they will lose access to all platform capabilities and their license will be revoked. This provides the same administrative control previously available through the **Remove User** action, while ensuring that the user’s historical activity and associated data remain intact for accurate reporting and analytics.

Click **Confirm** to finalize the removal.
