How to Add Provisions

This guide shows a quick, step-by-step way to capture and store lease provisions so you can find them later, include them on summary reports, and link supporting documents. It’s useful for anyone who needs consistent, searchable lease abstracts and wants to save time extracting key clauses and notes. Follow it to standardize provision names, section references, summaries, and document links.

Locating Provisions in the Lease

Locate a Provision in the lease.

How to Add Provisions

On the Home page, locate the tenant > Select the tenant's **three-dot menu** **>** Select **Provisions.** **NOTE:** You can locate the tenant quickly by searching for it.

Select **New Clause.**

Select the **Clause** field > Enter a **name.**

Select the **Section Reference** field > Enter **where** the Provision is in the lease.

Select the **Include on Summary Report box.** **Quality check:** The **Include on Summary Report** checkbox must be selected for important provisions. If it is **not selected**, the provision will **not appear** on the abstract.

Select the **Abstract Notes field >** Summarize the section **or** copy and paste it from the lease.

Select **Save.**

Don't forget to link the lease document.

How to Link a Document

Select **Link** to link the clause to the lease.

Select the **document's checkbox** > Select **Link File.**

The document will open for editing.

Selecting the **shapes** dropdown menu will allow you to choose shapes to add to the document.

Select the **highlighter** tool to highlight text in the document.

The **arrow icons** will **undo** and **redo** actions.

When you're done annotating the document, select **Save**.

Select the **x.**

Once linked, select **Inspect** to review the linked document > Select **Save**.

Importing & Exporting Clauses

After creating a clause(s), you can export them as a template for reuse.

Once you added all the necessary clauses, select **Export as Template**.

Enter a template name in the **Template Name** field.

Selecting the **Specific to XXX checkbox,** the template will only be available to this property.

Select **Export**.

When you select **Import Clauses**, the template is available for reuse in the **Select Template** dropdown menu.

To import clauses from a template or another tenant, select **Import Clauses**.

Toggle to **Import from Template** or **Import from Tenant**.

To import from tenant, select a **tenant** from the dropdown menu.

Select the **clause date**.

Select the **clauses** you want to import.

If you would like to overwrite existing clauses, select the **checkbox**. *If left unchecked, the new clauses will be added to the existing clauses. If checked, all existing clauses will be removed, and the new clauses will be added.*

Select **Import**.

The **clauses** will populate and be ready for editing and linking documents.

To import from template, select the template from the dropdown menu.

If you would like to overwrite existing clauses, select the **checkbox**.

Select **Import**.

The **clauses** will populate and be ready for editing and linking documents.
