Once you have installed the Stock Finance Pro [add-on](https://workspace.google.com/marketplace/app/stock_finance_pro/156572510618), click **Extensions**.

Find **Stock Finance Pro** in your list of Extensions.

Type the company's ticker symbol. For example, type "**GOOG**" and click "**OK**".

**NOTE:** We currently only support stock evaluations for companies listed in the US, European, and Asian markets. We recommend using the ticker symbols from [Yahoo Finance](https://finance.yahoo.com/?guccounter=1).

If you already have an existing sheet generated by Stock Finance Pro, you can enter or change the company's Ticker Symbol here.

Hovering over a cell that has a note will display additional details.

**NOTE**: Our API will be triggered even if you enter an invalid ticker and click refresh or recalculate the data. Please note that invalid ticker will still count as an API call, and the balance will be deducted from your account.

Once you enter a ticker symbol and press enter on your keyboard, you will instantly see financial information about the company, including our default Fair Value.

Once you have entered a Ticker Symbol, you will immediately receive a default **AVERAGE FAIR VALUE** for the company. The average number is a combination of all the financial valuation models we use. We recommend that you adjust the critical parameters such as the growth rate to fit your investment thesis.

**NOTE**: Financial models are used for different purposes to value a stock. The model to use depends on various factors and the information available. No single valuation model is universally applicable, and using multiple models can provide a more comprehensive view of a stock's value.

You can change the company **Sector** by clicking the dropdown (if you disagree with the classification).

There are **11 Sectors** to choose from: Basic Materials, Communication Services, Consumer Cyclical, Consumer Defensive, Energy, Financials, Healthcare, Industrials, Real Estate, Technology, Utilities

This **Financial Statement** table shows simplified data from the company's last four financial years.

This table displays the data for the End Date, Total Revenue, Gross Profit, Operating Expenses, Net Income, Total Assets, Total Liabilities, Shareholders' Equity, Cash From Operations, and Capital Expenditures.

No single valuation model works perfectly in every situation. To get a more accurate picture of a stock's value, we use four different models and then calculate an Average Fair Value. The right model to use depends on various factors and the specific information available at the time. Here are the four valuation models we use:

1. **EPS Valuation (Earnings Per Share)**
2. **Discounted Cash Flow (DCF)**
3. **Dividend Discount Model (DDM)**
4. **Reverse Bull & Bear Valuation**

You can view the fair value determined by each of these models individually.

On the right-hand side, you can find the **SHARES TRADING VOLUME** section. This section displays key information, such as the average trading volume, total outstanding shares, and company ownership details.

Below is the **Business Description**, which explains what the company does.

The **KEY STATISTICS** table gives extra details about the company's current situation. Here's what to look for:

- **Green cells** indicate positives but should still be checked carefully before making any investment decisions.
- **Red cells** signal potential problems that need more investigation.

In this example:

- The Price Target From (12) Analysts is highlighted in *green* because "$185.79" is higher than the Latest Stock Price of "$178.37"
- The P/E Ratio (TTM) is highlighted in *red* because the value "27.32" is much higher than the industry average of "20".

The **Future Growth Rate** shows analysts' yearly growth predictions. Do you agree with this rate? If not, adjust the number to reflect how much you think the company’s revenue, profits, and cash flow will grow yearly.

The **Margin of Safety** is a crucial concept in investing that helps protect you from errors in analysis or unexpected market changes. By buying securities at a price significantly below their intrinsic value, you reduce your risk. Our default settings is 50% but you should aim for a margin of safety of at least 20-30% to ensure a buffer against potential losses.

We suggest you customise the list below to match your investment strategy and then recalculate for a new Fair Value. Conduct a thorough fundamental analysis of the company to help you decide on the right numbers to use:

- Dividend Growth Rate (if applicable)
- **Future Growth Rate**
- Margin of Safety
- **Discount (Risk Free) Rate**
- Growth Decline Rate
- Terminal Multiplier

When no data is in these cells, they will be automatically highlighted in Dark Blue.

The number of **changes permitted** depends on your price plan:

1. **Free**: Recalculation of Fair Value counts as an API call and reduces your monthly balance.

2. **Pro**: Recalculation of Fair Value counts as an API call and reduces your monthly balance.

3. **Pro Plus:** Recalculation of Fair Value counts as an API call and reduces your monthly balance.

4. **Pro Premium**: *Unlimited* Recalculation of Fair Value.

If you have exhausted your API calls and cell updates in a month, you must upgrade to the next tier to continue using the service or wait until next month.

Adjust all the permitted parameters to fit your investment thesis.

Ever wonder how much profit a company makes per share? That's EPS! It's a key metric for valuing stocks. A higher EPS often means a company is more profitable, potentially justifying a higher stock price. But be careful! EPS alone doesn't tell the whole story. Growth potential and industry matter, too. Use EPS alongside other research to build a strong investment thesis.

**DISCOUNTED CASH FLOW**

Ever wondered if a stock's true value matches its price? The Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) model helps you estimate a stock's worth based on its future cash flow potential, not just current hype. It's your secret weapon for valuing companies for long-term investing, ignoring short-term noise. Consider a DCF model when building your investment plan for a more informed buy (or hold)!

**DIVIDEND DISCOUNT MODEL**

Ever wondered if a stock's future payouts justify its price? The Dividend Discount Model (DDM) can help! It considers a stock's worth based on the sum of its future dividends, brought back to today's value. This is ideal for income-focused investors who prioritise steady cash flow. Consider the DDM if you target dividend-paying companies for long-term gains!  Remember, it relies on predicting future dividends, so use it alongside other analysis for a well-rounded view.

Most sophisticated investors recommend remembering why you invest. Use the "**RISKS**, **ASSUMPTIONS**, and **REASONS TO BUY**" to make notes of your investment thesis.

If you Recalculate, Refresh Data or change the ticker symbol on the same sheet, the notes here will **not** be cleared.

Stock valuation often assumes a stable number of shares. But companies can issue new shares (dilution) or buy back existing ones. Our **REVERSE BULL & BEAR VALUATION** model helps you adjust for this. Use it when:

- A company is constantly issuing new shares. This can lower future value per share. If you believe the dilution will continue, enter a positive number.
- The company is aggressively buying back shares. This can concentrate future value among fewer shares. If you believe the buyback will continue, enter a negative number.

The sheet automatically uses the same name as the Ticker Symbol you are analysing, e.g. "GOOG".

If a sheet with the name of the new ticker symbol already exists, you'll receive an error message saying, "A sheet with the name "**TickerSymbol**" already exists. Please choose a different name."

A sheet with the name "GOOG" already exists. Please enter another name.

To resolve the existing sheet error message, you can delete or rename the current sheet. If you don't see the sheet right away, make sure to check your hidden sheets.
