Navigate to the desired location for the Group Self-Selection activity. Click 'Add an activity or resource".

Click "Group self-selection" from the activity picker.

Optionally, provide a description for the activity.

Students can use this activity to freely select which group they want to be in.

Optionally, adjust other settings such as number of members in a group, availability date, amount of groups per students, etc.

The General permissions tab provides additional functionalities that decide what permissions participants will have, such as being able to join, leave and create groups.

Participants can join groups
Participants can leave groups
Participants can create groups
Participants can set the name of new groups
Participants can set and edit group description
Participants can set passwords for joining groups

Miscellaneous settings are smaller uncommon options which teaching staff may choose to enable. 

Click "Save and return to course" to confirm changes and add the activity to the course main page.
