How to Extend Survey Expirations for Respondents

To extend a respondent's survey expiration, first navigate to the **Parents** tab.

Next, **locate the parent** by searching their name from the contacts list, or by scrolling through the results. Once you've located the parent, click the **View/Edit** button near their name.

If your current survey is still **active**, and the respondent has **not completed** the survey, you'll see an **Extend expiration** button in their most recent survey activity.

**Expiration extensions are ONLY possible when the current survey cycle is still active.** If the cycle has already ended, it won't be possible to adjust expirations for surveys from that period.

Next, click the **Extend expiration button.** Once clicked, the survey's expiration will be extended for an additional **7 days.**

This pop up indicates the date of the survey's **new expiration date**. You'll always see this pop up after clicking the **Extend Expiration** button.\ \ **Tip:** Make note of the new expiration to share with the respondent. If you forget, respondents will have 7 days to complete their survey, including the day you extended the expiration. In this example, ***the survey will expire once the date changes to May 21st.***

Next, click the **yellow circle** to copy the individual's survey **invitation**. You'll want to send the link to the respondent in case they no longer have the original invitation link.

After extending the expiration, be sure to include the respondent’s unique survey link in your follow up message. This ensures they have quick and easy access to complete the survey. \ \ If they encounter issues when clicking the link directly from their email, suggest copying and pasting it into their browser for a smoother experience!

If you check a respondent's survey history and see a **gray circle** instead of a yellow one (like in the image below), it means a survey invitation has not been sent yet. Because the invitation hasn't been sent, the **Extend Expiration** button will **not** be visible.

If you check a respondent's survey history and see a **yellow circle** without the extend expiration option, it means they've already **completed** their survey **anonymously**.

If you check a respondent's survey history and see a **green circle** instead of a yellow one (like in the image below), it means a survey invitation was sent and already **completed**. If you see a **View Survey** button, it means they completed the survey **non-anonymously**. You can always click **View Survey** to review their survey results!
