Click on the "Media" menu if you need to upload or grab a file's direct URL.
Click "Add New Media File" to upload a new file.

Open the file to view it's URL location and click "Copy URL to Clipboard".

Navigate to the page or post you want to link the file.  In this example, it will be on a Page.

Click "Edit with Elementor" to load the live builder.

In this example we will link the PDF to an image of a PDF using the "Icon" widget.  Click the widget menu and place the widget you wish to link.

After placing the Icon widget, I am going to select the PDF stock image from the "Icon Library".

Next paste the link we copied from the media gallery into the "Link" field.  If you would like the file to open in a new tab when clicke as to not divert the customer from the site, enable "Open in a new tab" inside the cog wheel menu to the right of the link field as indicated by the arrow.

Now let's style the icon using the "Style" tab.

First I increased the size of the icon to 75 pixels.  Next let's add some padding in the "Advanced" tab.

50 pixels of padding all around gives us a nice buffer under the photo.  Don't forget to save your changes!

Tip!  Many different widgets have the "Link" field.  Look for it the next time you are browsing the "Content" tab in a widget!
