How to Project a Value into a Budget

This guide shows how to quickly project values across months in RAAMP budgets, including fixed amounts, dollar escalations, or percentage compounding. It explains where to find Budgets in the Accounting Tools menu, how to enter the Project modal from a budget cell, and how to limit projection to specific columns. Follow it to save time and ensure accurate, repeatable multi-month budget projections.

RAAMP's budgets allow you to project a value across multiple months. When projecting, you can also manipulate the value by escalating by a dollar amount or percentage.

How to Navigate to Budgets

From the navigation menu, Select **Accounting >** Select **Tools >** Select **Budgets.**

From the **Accounting module**, select the **Tools** tab > Select **Budgets.**

How to Project a Value in a Budget

**Recommended Workflow** 1. Import historical Actuals first. 2. After actuals are imported, import Base Rent. 3. Then import CAM Recovery Estimates. Importing rents after actuals ensures projected rent values replace historical rent amounts instead of being overwritten by the actual import.

Select **New Budget** or select a **budget to edit**.

When creating a new budget, RAAMP loads the property's chart of accounts and related ledger information. Depending on the size of the property, this may take a few moments.

To start, select a **cell** in the budget > Select the **Project** button.

The **Project Data** modal will appear > Complete the information. *Fixed Amount:* Projects the same number across each column.\ *Adjust by amount*: Add the Dollar amount compounded to each column\ *Adjust by percentage:* Compounds a percentage to each column. You can also select the checkbox for a **partial projection**. This will allow you to project to a specific number of columns rather than to the last column of the budget. The columns you are projecting to will show a preview and have a green dot to indicate you are projecting to them.
