How to Request a Medical Certificate

Navigate to [https://www.hotdoc.com.au/](https://www.hotdoc.com.au/)

Click "Medical Certificate"

Select your preferred provider

Click "Get started"

Select who the medical certificate is for

Confirm that you are an existing patient

Select your usual practitioner

Describe your symptoms and other relevant information, then click "Continue"

Enter your details, then click "Save and continue"

Select your payment method

Review the details of your request, then click "Yes, request"

If payment was successful, you'll see a message confirming the request with some additional information about expected timeframes and delivery method.

**If the payment method was invalid**: The request will not be sent to the clinic and you'll need to add a valid payment method to the request in the **Appointments** section of your HotDoc account for the request to be sent.

The request will appear in the **Appointments** section of the HotDoc account, under '**Current**' tab. The status will change once this is approved/declined.

You will then receive an **email** confirming the request has been received and will include some information around the expected response times.

**If** **Approved**, you'll receive an **email** with the details below, including any notes left by the practitioner, as well as the cost breakdown.

**If approved**, the request in your HotDoc account will move from 'Pending' to a green '**Approved**' **Note**: After being approved this will be in the '**Appointments > Current**' for **24 hours**, then will move to '**Appointments > History**'.

**If Declined**, you'll receive an email to inform you this has been declined, including any notes left by the practitioner and a link to book an appointment.
