How to Request a Repeat Referral

Navigate to [https://www.hotdoc.com.au/](https://www.hotdoc.com.au/)

Click "Specialist Referral"

Click "Get started"

Select your preferred provider

Select who the request is for

Confirm that you are an existing patient

Carefully read the Terms of Service, then click "I agree and continue"

Select your usual practitioner

Select the referral delivery method

Confirm your details are correct, then select "Save and continue"

Fill out the details of your request, then select "Save and continue"

Enter your specialist's address, then click "Save and continue"

Select your payment method

Review the details of your request, then click "Pay"

You will then see a confirmation your request was successfully submitted

Confirm your details are correct and **select "Pay $xx.xx"** to finalise your request.

If the payment method was successful, you will get a confirmation message with further information around expected response times and can press **OK** to see this request in your HotDoc app.

**Note**: If your card is invalid, your request will not be sent to your clinic. you will need to add a valid payment method to the request in the Appointments section of your HotDoc account for this to request to send.

Your request will then appear in the **Appointments** section of your HotDoc account, under '**Current**' tab.

You will also receive an email stating your request has been received, and you can click the '**View request status'** to view the progress of your request in your HotDoc App.

If your **practitioner has approved your request**, you will receive an email saying this has been approved and the breakdown of the charge. The contents of this email will vary slightly depending on how you’ve chosen to receive your prescription (e.g. electronic, urgent electronic). You may also receive a **note from the doctor** with additional information.

In the HotDoc app, the request will move from 'Pending' to a green '**Approved**' \ \ **Note**: After being approved this will be in the '**Appointments > Current**' for **24 hours**, then will move to '**Appointments > History**'.

If your practitioner has **declined your request**, you will receive an email saying this has been declined. **Note**: You may also receive a note from the doctor with additional information as to why.
