UM staff can hand in a paper for a plagiarism check via the following URL: [[\[turnitin.maastrichtuniversity.nl]]

Always go to: [turnitin.maastrichtuniversity.nl](http://turnitin.maastrichtuniversity.nl) and log in with your UM username and password.

If you go to: maastrichtuniversity.turnitin.com you will get an error, because you first have to log in with your UM account.

**Click "Upload"**

**File requirements:**\
The maximum upload size is 200MB\
Each file must be 100MB or less\
 Maximum paper length is 800 pages. \
It is possible to upload Zip-files to a maximum of 200MB or 100 files.

**Click "Select file"**

Upload the document you want to check

Choose "Index to your account's repository" if you want the submission to become part of the global Turnitin database. Indexed submissions will be available for comparison in Similarity Reports.

By default, uploaded papers are not indexed.

Indexed submissions become part of Turnitin's global database.\
Student's papers are however not visible to people outside of Maastricht University.

Click "Confirm"

The paper will now be checked against the database. If it is a large paper, it might take some time before it is processed.

The Similarity Report is now being created.

As soon as the document is processed, the Similarity percentage will be visible.\
By clicking on the percentage, the Turnitin Similarity Report will open.
