This document will guide you on how to create a recipe with stock that you have already setup in Lightspeed.

For this example I have created a Spirit Product called Appletons. \
You will see that this product has 4 different names. ( Appletons , Appletons Double, Appletons Singles and Appletons Stock 1L)

Explanation:

1. Appletons - This is the main Product and the icon you will see on the POS system
2. Appletons Double & Single - These are variants of the main product above (different sizes)
3. Appletons Stock 1L - This is the product you count in a stock take. We call this the Parent Product

Once your setup looks like this Select back Office.

You products that have been created are in the Produce Tab. \
Click on "Produce"

Once this tab has loaded you will see the below. \
The Main products, the Variants and the Parent Products that have been created are found in Recipes. \
Click on "Create Recipe"

You will notice in the below example that the Appleton stock is already showing. (You might have to search for your product if it doesn't show up)\
In this example I am selecting the Appletons Double.

I have selected Appletons Double now to find the Parent stock. \
In this example "Appletons Stock 1 L" is the Parent Stock. \
(Parent stock is what referred to as the stock used to count during a stock take)

The parent stock has been selected now to add how many units will be removed if sold. \
In the example we have Appletons stock show as 1L. (1L is = to 1 Unit)\
We have to divide the amount we poured by the Parent amount. (30ml Double Shot/ by 1000ml Appletons Bottle = 0.03 units) or (30/1000=0.03)

Now that you know each amount is 0.03 add it into your unit amount.

Now go back and repeat the same process with the Single Shot.

Add the parent stock " Appletons Stock 1L"

Do your basic calculations -  In this example a single shot is worth 15ml. \
15ml / 1000ml = 0.015 (15ml poured / 1000ml Appletons Bottle = 0.015units)

Add the correct unit/ Quantity removed. In this example it is 0.015. \
Go ahead and save the recipe.

Go back to your recipe screen and you will see your two new recipes that you have created.
