Start by navigating to the Microsoft Azure portal, [https://portal.azure.com/](https://portal.azure.com/).

Locate the storage account you want to link to imgix.

In the imgix dashboard, input this account name into the corresponding imgix Source Creation field.

Return to the Azure portal and select the desired storage account to view its details.

Identify the Service Type you will be using to set up your imgix Source. Will you be connecting a Container (blob) or a File Share?

In this example, we'll be connecting a Container (blob). Navigate to the Containers page to locate the name of the Container you want to link to imgix.

For linking a File Share, navigate to the File Shares page.

In the imgix dashboard, input the Container (or File Share) name into the corresponding imgix Source Creation field.

Return to the Azure portal and select the "Shared access signature" navigation item.

Your selection will vary for the "Allowed services" section based on your Storage Service Type.

For Container (Blob): Adjust your options so that only "Blob" remains selected.

For File Share: Adjust your options so that only "File" remains selected.

For both Service Types, select the "Container" and "Object" options under the "Allowed resource types" section.

For both Service Types, select only the "Read" and "List" options under the "Allowed permissions" section.

For both Service Types, you'll want to specify the "End" date to be far into the future under the "Start and expiry date/time" section. imgix will need a long-term SAS Token to continue serving your assets without interruption.

Select the "Generate SAS and connection string" button.

Once your SAS Token generates, be sure to save a copy of it in a secure location.

This is the only opportunity you will have to save your SAS Token. Once you leave this page, it can never be re-obtained. Before proceeding onto the next steps, take this moment to store your token in a secure location for future use.

In the imgix dashboard, input your SAS Token into the corresponding imgix Source Creation field.

Congratulations! You should now have all the credentials needed to connect imgix to your Microsoft Azure media assets. In the next step of our Source creation process, you’ll create a subdomain for your imgix Source.
