Accessing your gateway's **Local Dashboard** is like logging into your gateway.

To access the **Local Dashboard** of your gateway, open your web browser and surf to the local IP address of this gateway, followed by :17080\
\

*In this case we choose Firefox and browse to: [[192.168.129.9:17080]]*

ℹ️ **Local Dashboard unreachable?**

1. Wait a few minutes and try again. Crankk OS is loading. This is common during the first boot of the Crankk OS;

2. Use the correct local IP address;

3. Try a different browser;

4. Use http:// prefix and **NOT** https://

***What is a Local IP address?*** \
Your router automatically assigns a Local IP address to every device that is connected to your home network, hence 'Local'. It serves as a unique identifier for each of those connected devices on the network.

***How can I recognise a Local IP address?***\
A Local IP address usually starts with 192.168... For example: 192.168.129.9

***Where can I find the Local IP address of a gateway on my home network?***\
**RECOMMENDED:** A tool like[Advanced IP scanner](https://crankk.wiki/docs/where-to-find-my-gateways-local-ip-address/) can scan your home network and reveal all connected devices and their Local IP addresses in just two clicks.\
\
The local IP address of your gateway can also be found in your router's User Interface. Look for a list of all connected devices and copy the correct IP address.

A password prompt will ask the login credentials for your gateway's **Local Dashboard**.

- Username: **[[admin]]**
- Password: **[[leave field blank]]**

**ℹ️** No password is needed unless you have **set a password** earlier.

✅ First time logging into your gateway's Local Dashboard requires no username and no password. Leave both fields blank and hit sign in to access your gateway's Local Dashboard.

You have now accessed your gateway's Local Dashboard.

**What if I'm not connected to my home network?**

*Solution: remotely accessing your gateway's Local Dashboard is only possible if you have installed **Tailscale** VPN service to your gateway beforehand.*

It is recommended to install Tailscale.
