Manage Apps in Avast Firewall

Avast Firewall controls when the apps on your computer can connect to the internet or to other networks and creates default rules for an app when it starts for the first time. Follow these steps to specify how Avast Firewall handles connection attempts with individual apps.

Avast

Double-click **Avast Business Security**

Click **Protection**

Click **Firewall**

Ensure the **Apps** tab is selected, then select one of the following sub-tabs: **• ACTIVE** - View the apps that are currently using your internet connection.\ **• INACTIVE** - View the apps that are not currently using your internet connection.\ **• BLOCKED** - View the apps that are currently blocked from using your internet connection.\ **• ALL** - View the apps that are installed on your PC.

Select an App and click the ... (3 dots)

You have three options to choose from: **• Turn on Ask me Mode** - Ensure that Firewall prompts you to manually allow or deny each connection attempt for this app.\ **• Show app details** - View basic information about this app.\ **• Show app rules** - Open the advanced Application rules for this app.

Here is an example of the Application Rules and you can click on the bin to delete a rule or pencil to change settings for that rule.
