Creating Your Shelter Account on DogsBlog

Open this website in a browser <https://www.dogsblog.com/list-your-shelter/>

Be sure to read the **Please Read Our Expectations Guide**

Enter the **Adoption Coordinator name** into the "Your Name" field.

Enter your **rescue gmail account** into the "Your Email" field.

Enter your shelter or pound name with "SSAR - " at the start in the "Name of Rescue" field. For example: "**SSAR - Dog Valley Rescue Centre**"

Enter the Adoption coordinator phone number in the "Phone No: (required)" field. If you prefer not to have your phone number on there then we can provide one to use but it would be better if enquiries went directly to the appropriate co-ordinator.

Enter the "**Address of Rescue (or head office)**" field. We will provide this privately.

Enter **savingsoulsrescue.org** into the "Website" field.

Click the "Additional Info" field.

Enter the following text into the "Additional Info" field.\ \ Saving Souls Animal Rescue is a registered UK charity 1209645 that helps Pounds and Shelters across Republic of Cyprus. This is the account to manage <**Enter Shelter/Pound name**> in Cyprus. (Enter the name you entered into step 5)

Click the following radio buttons: - **Yes** to **[[Do You Perform Home Checks?]]** - **Age Dependent** to **[[Are Your Dogs Vaccinated, Chipped & Neutered?]]** - **Yes** to **[[Do You Provide Post Adoption Support?]]** - **Depends** to **[[Do You Rehome to People Employed Full-Time?]]** - **Depending on Age** to **[[Do You Rehome to Families With Children?]]**

Enter dog into the "What is god spelled backwards?" field.

Once you have pressed Send, if you can send DogsBlog an email, from your rescue gmail account you used to set up the DogsBlog account in Step 4, explaining what we are doing. You need to send the email to[**admin@dogsblog.com**](mailto:kim@dogsblog.com) (Note: change the name of the rescue to what you entered in step 5): **Subject of the email:** Account creation on DogsBlog for <**SSAR - Dogs Valley Rescue Shelter**> **Email body text:** Saving Souls Animal Rescue have an account with DogsBlog but it has been difficult to manage the number of dogs we have at the multiple different shelters and Pounds we support. We apologise for not being able to work with you to our best ability up to this point while we restructured our team. We have decided to split up how we manage the individual places we support and so it is easier for us to be compliant with your requirements and keep our dogs profiles and status up to date. I hope that is ok. I will be using this email address to manage dogs in the shelter <**SSAR - Dogs Valley Rescue Shelter**>. I hope this is ok. Thanks for your support, Adoption coordinator name

ADDING A DOG TO DOGSBLOG

**ADDING A DOG TO DOGSBLOG:** **PLEASE NOTE, YOU CANNOT DO THIS FROM SHELTER MANAGER** You need to send an email toad [**admin@dogsblog.com**](mailto:kim@dogsblog.com) **from your rescue gmail address you used to create the account in step 4**. **Subject of the Email:** Dog’s name, age, gender and breed - Example: Kerry – 1 year old female Spaniel cross Dachshund (DOB: 1/2/2025) **Email body text:** must contain the following information about the dog: - First section MUST contain: - if suitable to live with cats - if suitable to live with other dogs or needs to be the only dog - if suitable to live with children or needs an adult only home - the region in the UK where the dog is currently located, or whether in Cyprus - Second section MUST contain the description of the dog, what their character is like and what they would need/want in an ideal home. - Dogs DoB **Include as attachments:** 3 photos of the dog OR 2 videos and 1 photo OR 1 video and 2 photos - Videos should be mp4 files only; photos should be jpg or png files only - Photos have to be very different to each other

EDITING DOGS ON DOGSBLOG

**EDITING DOGS ON DOGSBLOG:** **PLEASE NOTE, YOU CANNOT DO THIS FROM SHELTER MANAGER** When you would like an update made to a dog on DogsBlog you need to send them an email. To do this you will need to go to DogsBlog and find the dog you want editing. You can go to <https://www.dogsblog.com/shelters/> and select your shelter. Scroll down to the dog you want edited and click on their profile. Copy the dogs website link from the address bar and paste that into an email to [**admin@dogsblog.com**](mailto:kim@dogsblog.com) **You MUST email this from the rescue gmail account that you used to register your account on DogsBlog in step 4 of this guide and MUST contain the link to the dogs profile on DogsBlog** **Example:** **Subject of the email**: "Update Gabriel description / photos please" **Enter into body of the email the changes you would like, include photo / videos attachments if required:** Hello, Please can you amend Gabriel's description. REMOVING A DOG FROM DOGSBLOG

**REMOVING A DOG FROM DOGSBLOG:** **PLEASE NOTE, YOU CANNOT DO THIS FROM SHELTER MANAGER** When a dog is no longer available you MUST remove the dog from DogsBlog.\ \ To do this you will need to go to DogsBlog and find the dog you want removing. You can go to <https://www.dogsblog.com/shelters/> and select your shelter. Scroll down to the dog you want removed and click on their profile. Please be aware that all the dogs will appear in your shelter list whether rehomed or not, it will say under the dogs picture whether they are available or have been rehomed. Copy the dogs website link from the address bar and paste that into an email to [**admin@dogsblog.com**](mailto:kim@dogsblog.com) **You MUST email this from the rescue gmail account that you used to register your account on DogsBlog in step 4 of this guide and MUST contain the link to the dogs profile on DogsBlog.** **Example:** **Subject of the email**: "Remove Gabriel from DogsBlog please" **Copy into the body of the email:** Hello, Gabriel has been rehomed, please can you remove her from your website.
