Use survey data about how customers heard about your brand

Click "Manage" next to your survey configuration

Click "Organize Responses". \

Here you will group similar survey responses together to map them back to marketing activity.  This step is essential to matching free form survey responses to the desired marketing channel.  

Drag and drop any unclassified survey responses to a similar category. For example "from a classmate" and "from a coworker" might both be categorize as "word of mouth". \

If an existing category does not exist, click the "+" icon to create a new category. Rename the category if desired by clicking the pencil icon.

Click "Next" when the categorization is complete. \

You will need to check on "Unclassified Responses" on a recurring basis to categorize any new responses.  If this is not done, the responses will not appear in Rockerbox attribution reporting. 

Next, you will need to assign a tier structure to each survey response category. \
\
As a best practice, the tiers should align to your existing tier structure. \
\
For example, a "Facebook" survey response might be categorized as Paid Social &gt; facebook-instagram &gt; survey.

By default you will see dropdowns that reflect the existing tiers. \
\
Click the " icon to type in a free-form response, or the &lt;/&gt; icon to dynamically report on the survey response.\

It is not required to populate all tiers, but Rockerbox recommend you create a structure that's as granular as possible to maximize the detail available in reporting.\

If a similar marketing event already exists on the user's path to conversion (ex Rockerbox tracked a TikTok touchpoint and the user responses they heard about your brand from TikTok) you can choose to skip the creation of a new event. \
\
1\.  Set the priority of overriding the event with the survey response.  100 = always report on the survey response.  0 = only report on the survey response if a similar touchpoint does not already exist\
\
2\. Click "Skip Creation if event exists" if you do not want to create a survey event for users with a similar touchpoint on their path.
