Learn how to navigate the Swiftly dashboard to configure, generate, and export National Transit Database (NTD) reports for your agency. This guide covers selecting specific service types, and reporting periods to ensure accurate data extraction for your annual service statistics.

Navigate to the NTD Reports

Start from [Download Center](https://dashboard.goswift.ly) in the Swiftly Dashboard.

Select the "**NTD Reports**" tab at the top.

If you do not see the NTD Reports tab/details it could be because of a few things: 1. You must have Swiftly's On-Time Performance or Swiftly Ridership Modules. 2. An agency admin must configure the NTD Report Settings before using. You can walk through how to do that HERE.

Report Selection

**Agency Info:** Review and confirm the agency information used to generate your NTD reports. Make sure these details match your agency’s NTD reporting profile so exported reports are associated with the correct agency and reporting configuration.

**Three Types of Reports Provided:** 1. **Annual Service Statistics (S-10):** Select this report to generate annual service statistics for your agency’s fiscal year, including vehicle revenue hours and miles, deadhead hours, actual vehicle hours, and passenger miles traveled. 2. **Monthly Ridership (MR-20):** Select this report to generate monthly service and ridership statistics, including unlinked passenger trips, vehicle revenue miles, vehicle revenue hours. 3. **Reduced Reporters (RR-20)**

Outline Report Details

Start by setting the parameters of the data. Select the **Reporting Period** from the drop down.

Select **the mode** of transport in the drop down. **The Mode** options depend on the transit modes supported and configured for the agency. The dropdown displays the full mode name and its NTD code, such as: - **Motorbus (MB)** - **Commuter Bus (CB)** Only modes associated with the agency’s routes will appear. Select the mode that applies to the report they’re generating, if there is more than one option.

Select **the Type of Service** from the drop down that applies to the routes and vehicles included in the report **Type of Service**, how the transit service is operated: - **Directly Operated (DO):** The agency operates the service using its own employees and vehicles. - **Purchased Transportation (PT):** The agency contracts another organization to operate the service. Only the options configured for the agency will appear.

Select "**Generate Report"**

Expand the What Swiftly Provides panel to **review which NTD metrics Swiftly can populate** in the selected report and where each value comes from, such as **GTFS, AVL, or APC data**. Expand the section to review each metric’s source and calculation methodology. - **Green check:** Swiftly has the required product, configuration, and data to calculate and populate the metric. - **Yellow warning:** Swiftly cannot currently populate the metric. A yellow metric does not prevent the report from being generated. It indicates that Swiftly will leave that field blank for the agency to complete before submitting the report through the NTD portal.

Review the generated report details: - A preview of the FTA-formatted report appears. - Fields populated by Swiftly are highlighted. - Available metrics and their data sources—such as GTFS, AVL, or APC—are shown. - Any missing data or data-quality warnings appear for review. - The filters lock to match the preview; select **Edit Filters** to make changes.

Select **"Export"** to download data in a CSV format. - Swiftly does not submit directly to the NTD for you. - We give you the calculated values and a preview of exactly where each one goes. - You enter them into the NTD Reporting Tool.

Review the generated report details: - A preview of the FTA-formatted report appears. - Fields populated by Swiftly are highlighted. - Any missing data or data-quality warnings appear for review. - The filters lock to match the preview; select **Edit Filters** to make changes.
