In the next section, we will perform a Full Upload, writing the calibration and program sections of the ECU and patching as required. The estimated time to perform a Full Upload is 10-15 minutes. Do not attempt to cancel a Full Upload for any reason, as this has a 100% chance of causing the ECU to “soft brick” and become unresponsive. In the event of a soft bricked ECU, perform a Full Upload of your original ECU backup.

To reduce the risk of failure, your car’s battery must be in good condition, fully charged, with a 10+ amp charger connected

Make sure to temporarily disable any background services on your computer that could interrupt the flashing process. This includes virus/malware scanners, screen savers, or sleep settings. Some customers have noticed that these have interfered and caused their flash to end prematurely.

Connect your Severn Tuning K+DCAN (OBD to USB) cable to your computer's USB port

Connect your Severn Tuning cable to your car's OBD port

Insert your key and turn the ignition switch to "Run". Do not start the engine!

Functions will remain disabled until your cable is properly detected and installed. If Severn FlashApp remains disabled after connecting your cable, there is a problem with detecting the cable; the cable is incorrect; or cable drivers are improperly installed. Consult the instruction pdf file in the FlashApp folder if further troubleshooting is required.

If the bottom left corner shows "OBD2: Not Connected" in red, click this button to refresh COM ports.

When you are ready to begin the write process, click the down arrow under the "Upload" button to access the "Full Binary" option

Click "Full Binary". Select the appropriate file to upload and follow the on-screen prompts. DO NOT CANCEL THE WRITE PROCESS FOR ANY REASON!

Once the initial Full Upload has completed, cycle the ignition OFF for 10 seconds. Then, repeat the Full Upload process to install your tuned file.

Subsequent tunes can be installed using the standard "Upload" function, which allows for significantly faster tune uploads

After uploading your tuned file, confirm the car starts
