Navigate to [https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member](https://www.congress.gov/members/find-your-member)

When your members of Congress pop up, click "Contact" to navigate to their website.

In the case of Senator Kaine, the "Contact" link brings us to a page with several options. Click "Scheduling Requests" or a similarly named option.

Fill out the form with your contact information and the reason why you want a meeting.

Tip! You can copy and paste this letter into the "why do you want a meeting" box:

Dear Sen./Rep. Lastname,

My name is [[Name]] and I am a [[job title]] at [[department/organization]]. I am writing today as a member of the fire and emergency services to request a meeting with you or your staff in Washington, D.C. when I am in town on [[February 12, 2025]].

I would appreciate the opportunity to talk to you about issues of importance to the fire and emergency services. (If you want to get specific about your meeting topic, add this sentence: This includes [[add your topics here]].)

Please let me know when you or your staff may be able to meet. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Best,

[[Name]]

Click "Submit" to send the form in an request a meeting.

In a second example, when you click "Contact" for Representative Beyer, you get taken to a generic contact form where there isn't a specific option for meeting requests.

In this case, look up at the top of the website or down at the bottom of the website to see if there are more contact options. For Rep. Beyer, there is a second contact button in the top right corner of the website. When you hover over that "Contact" button, you can see the option for a meeting request.

Tip! Again - when filling out the form, feel free to use this form language as applicable:
