Requesting a Prescription on HotDoc

Navigate to <https://www.hotdoc.com.au/> and log into your HotDoc account.

From the homepage, click "Repeat Prescription".

Select your preferred provider

Click "Get started"

Select who the repeat prescription is for

Carefully read the Terms of Service, then select "I agree and continue"

Select your usual practitioner

Confirm that you are an existing patient

If you're a "**New patient**", you'll be shown this service is only available to existing patients and be directed to book an appointment at the practice instead.

Select how you would like the prescription to be delivered

Confirm that your practice has your current mobile number on file.

After confirming your details are correct, select "Save and continue"

Enter the name and dosage of the medication you are requesting, along with any additional notes you wish to include for your doctor.

Click "Save and continue"

If you have requested a medication that is considered restricted, you'll see a warning that you may require an in-person appointment. If your request is declined, you will be refunded in full.

Select your payment method

Review the details of your request, and select "Pay"

Finally, you will see a confirmation that your request has been sent.

The prescription request will also show in your HotDoc account under "Appointments".

You will then receive an **email** confirming the request has been received and will include some information around the expected response times.

**If** **Approved**, you'll receive an **email** with the details below, including any notes left by the practitioner, as well as the cost breakdown. The contents of this email will vary slightly depending on how you’ve chosen to receive your prescription (e.g. in person, via SMS, email, or fax to your pharmacy).

**If approved**, the request in your HotDoc account will move from 'Pending' to a green '**Approved**' **Note**: After being approved this will be in the '**Appointments > Current**' for **24 hours**, then will move to '**Appointments > History**'.

**If Declined**, you'll receive an email to inform you this has been declined, including any notes left by the practitioner and a link to book an appointment.
