Navigate to [https://hub.scb-ncats.io/auth](https://hub.scb-ncats.io/auth)

Click the "Servers" tab on the lefthand sidebar to navigate to the Server Dashboard.

Click "Create New" to open the Server Wizard.

The default selection is "JupyterLab". You can select an application type of "IDE" or "DASHBOARD" and switch between the two categories by clicking the tabs at the top of the wizard on the first step.

On the "Select Dashboard" tab, you can see the the option to select one of many dashboard types such as "Streamlit" or "Voila". Clicking the option will highlight it in a teal color.

Click "Next" to navigate to the next step of the wizard.

There are four file operations available, one to create a new empty file, one to upload a new file, one to select from a file tree, and one to skip this step entirely with no file selected (only available on select IDEs and Dashboards).

Select the "Select File/Folder" operation, and click "Next".

Tip! Notice that the titles of each step showcase what is available for selection.

In this case, the user can select a file, folder, or nothing since file/folder selection is optional for a JupyterLab based server.

You can double click your work or shared folder to drill into a folder path, and click the breadcrumbs above to navigate back. Double click the "work" folder, which is your personal file storage.

Once inside, click a file such as "test.ipynb" file to select it, making it highlight a teal color.

Tip! If you have not created a file yet in your work folder, navigate back to the root folder by clicking the folder icon and select the `work` folder itself.

The next step will allow you to select your desired hardware option, with the default being a standard "Shared CPU Medium" option with "4 CPU and 7.5Gb RAM". Select a "Dedicated CPU Medium (4 CPU, 7.5Gb RAM)" hardware option to test something a little stronger.

As mentioned previously, the title of each step gives clues as to what is available for and required for selection. In this case, the environment module dependency is optional. Next, click a row reveal the associated versions, in this case the "python-data-science" environment module.

Environment modules are grouped by name, with the most recent version appearing first and labeled "Latest". Select the "0.1.10" option for "python-data-science".

Update the "Name" field with a unique Server Name. The field will highlight in red if it is not unique during the "Create New" flow.

Now, update the "Description" field with a Server Description less than 200 characters.

Enter "Simple Description" in the "Description" field.

If you do not want to wait for the server to be launched immediately upon clicking the "Create Server" button, uncheck the "Launch" button.

The new server will populate in a "Stopped" state on the Server Dashboard. Click "Start" to begin the process of launching the server. The button text will say "Starting", and a spinner will appear to the left of the button to indicate the status. Note that there is a small delay between clicking the "Start" button and seeing the status changes.

Click "Launch". A new tab will open, in this case with the JupyterLab application showing. If you do not see this tab open, check the top right hand corner of your screen to allow popups.

Finally, you will see the JupyterLab application open with the "test.ipynb" file.
