Navigate to the Channels > Digital Advertising dropdown. 

Select the advertising platform you're looking to set a goal against or optimize.  

As a reminder, this goal and optimization recommendations with be against platform-reported performance metrics. 

Click the Platform-Reported Performance tab. 

Filter for the placements you will set your goal against.  For example if you have a different Acquisition vs Retargeting goal, filter for acquisition campaigns before setting your goal. 

Skip this step if your goal will be set on the platform level.
Optional:  if you're looking to set a specific budget to optimize against, select a date range you will budget against. 

For example, to set a budget for the next 30 days, select last 30 days in the UI.

Follow the instructions to set your goal.

Goals can be set for either a CPA or ROAS, and based on either a a Rolling Average or Fixed Target. 

Budget is optional, and will be set against the date range selected in the current UI.  For example if the view is reporting on the past 30 days of data, budget will be set against 30 days. 

Note for conversion events that do not have revenue passed to Rockerbox, a ROAS target cannot be set.

Set your goal to unlock optimization opportunities based on your performance goals. 

To revisit the goal you just set up, be sure to save it by clicking "Save As" in the top right corner.  Follow the instructions to save the view. 

Saved goals will be available to share, edit, and revisit under the Saved Reports navigation dropdown. 

If your goal changes, simply delete the existing goal and complete the steps to create a new goal.
