Login to the Magnus Box endpoint software using the account credentials you created in your admin portal. 

You cannot use your web portal admin credentials to login to the endpoint software.

On the New Protected Item screen:
-Enter a user friendly name for the backup job
-Select "File and Folders"
-Click "Next"

From this screen under the Include tab, you can select common locations to backup.

You can also use the Custom tab to select specific data locations to include and exclude from the backup. 

Once you have selected all of the data you would like to backup, click on "Next"

On the Commands screen, you can enter custom commands. For this example, just click "Next"

Commands are helpful for things such as shutting down or starting databases. 

The commands cannot be interactive or require any user input. They must run silently or they will trigger an error in the backup logs. 

From the Schedule page, click the plus sign in the upper right hand corner to add a backup schedule. 

You can have as many schedules per protected item as you would like. This is helpful for offloading the data to multiple storage vault locations.

From the schedule screen you can:
-Assign a friendly name to the backup schedule
-Select where to store the encrypted data

If you are running a daily backup, we recommend:
-Unchecking "Skip if already running
-Check "Cancel if still running after:" 

We put 23 in the first box so the backup job will cancel out after 23 hours. The job will pick up where it left off during its next scheduled backup job.

Using "Cancel if still running" is great for allowing the backup job to run during a clients off hours. This will prevent network congestion.

Under the Time tab, you can set the backup time. The below is just an example of setting a daily backup at 10 PM.

Once you have finished setting your schedules, you can click on "Next"

On the Retention page, you can set custom retention policies. For this example, we are going to leave it as the default and click on "Next"

On the Finish page, you can either choose to run a backup now or wait until its scheduled backup time. You can then click on "Finish"
