It is not recommended to turn it off by unplugging the power cable.

Press and hold the power button for approximately 4 seconds, or until you hear a beep and the power LED starts blinking

Once you hear the beep and the LED blinks, the Synology NAS will begin the shutdown process. Normally, this takes around 1-2 minutes.

Once all the LED's go off, the Synology NAS has completed the shutdown process.
