To create a soil report, first open a new or existing map from our dashboard. Navigate to your area of interest and open the Reports menu in the upper-right of you map window.

Click on the "Create Soils Report" option.

Click on the boundary you want to use.

In this example, we will be using the FSA overlay to designate the polygon used for the Soil Report, but the steps and report will be the same if you are using your own boundary.

The selected boundary will turn blue, and you will be prompted to "Create Report" or "Cancel." Click the "Create Report" button, and the system will begin compiling your data. Depending on the size and soil complexity of your analysis area, this can take a few seconds to a few minutes.

Once processed, your report will appear in the left-hand panel. Each report has three tabs.

The first is the "Acres" tab. This tab includes the soil map unit symbol, name, and acres for each soil occurring on your site. Additionally, this tab includes the percent of the area covered by each soil, the Crop Productivity Index (CPI), National Commodity Crop Productivity Index (NCCPI), and Land Capability Classification (CAP) for each soil map unit. The acreage-weighted average value for each of these is calculated and shown at the bottom of the report.

The "Capabilities" tab contains information on acreage and productivity, as well as suitability for various agricultural grazing and farming activities. 

The report can be switched to show results for both non-irrigated and irrigated scenarios from the dropdown menu.

The "WAPI" (weighted-average productivity index) tab shows the expected crop yields per acre for selected crops for each soil type. The weight units are shown to the left of the Class Legend.

To print a PDF or PNG copy of your Soil Report, click the "Print" button at the bottom of the report viewer. This will open the print window. [Learn more about print.](https://support.id.land/export-image-of-map-with-print-map)

Your Soil Report can be found in your saved map by clicking "Reports" and selecting "View Soils Report."

If you want to change the area you are analyzing, delete your report by clicking the "Delete" button at the bottom of the report window, and begin this process again for your new area.
