Login at <https://arms.recoveryoutcomes.com> - this is the ARMS navigator portal.

Click the "Add New Client" button at the bottom right of the Clients page.

Enter the client's SSN or a random unique string if none is provided (this can be literally anything, but it must be unique), then click "CHECK".

Click "CREATE NEW CLIENT" if there is no matching SSN in the database.

Enter the client's basic information. Required includes: First, Last, DOB, Admission Date (or program enrollment date), Gender, Ethnicity, and Program.

In the Issue Client Portal section, Click "CREATE"

Ignore the email and phone number fields. The only required fields here are Username and Password. 

Create a unique username for this client. One example might be: FirstLastDOB, as it is easily referenced from the client record.

Click the "Temporary Password" field and enter a temporary password. This can be anything -  you will be forced to change it later if you log in on behalf of the client. NOTE: If you forget the client's account password at any time, you can always go back to this section and enter a new temporary password to reset it. 

Anytime you make changes, including a new temporary password, you must click the "SAVE" button at the top right of this page.

Log in as the client to register consent and fill out documents.

NOTE: if this is the first time, you will use the temporary password you set prior.

If the client has completed the paper consent form, click "AGREE" here.

If the client has completed the ROI research consent document, Click "I Agree" or "I Do Not Agree" depending on their response.

Upon logging in with a temporary password, you will be required to change the password. We recommend using the same easy to remember password for ALL clients you are responsible for, if you are going to be logging in on their behalf. 

If you need to complete a document or a survey on behalf of your client after sending it to them digitally, you can usually do so from the 'Alerts' link at the top right of their client portal. 

Tip! If you are also working on setting and tracking goals in the system with your clients, you can engage with them AS THE CLIENT from this location as well - just go in to the Recovery Planning section and access the appropriate area from within. 

Otherwise, you can see all completed and pending documents in the Documents section of the client portal.

This step-by-step guide provides instructions on how to add a new client without an email or phone.  In some cases, such as correctional contexts, clients may not have access to an email account or phone. ARMS allows for these scenarios and new clients can still be created and provisioned a client portal using a username and password only. 

If the client cannot ever access an internet-connected device, navigators can log in as the client to complete digital surveys and register consent.
