Trusted or Untrusted Network in Avast Firewall

If you have just installed Avast Antivirus or your router has been restarted, this can affect the Avast Firewall settings which in turn can affect the communication with network devices on your network. It is highly recommended that you check to make sure your network is trusted in the Avast Firewall settings, especially if you are encountering any printing problems.

Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 have two main network settings, Private and Public, here are the definitions: • **PRIVATE (Trusted Network)** - Must be set to this for your home or work network, especially if you have a network device like a printer you need to access. • **PUBLIC (Untrusted Network)** - If the network is publicly shared (for example, the network at a cafe or airport), this will block access to a network device like a printer.

Double-click **Avast Business Security**

Click **Protection**

Click **Firewall**

Click **Networks**

If My Current Network is set to Trusted network, this is correct for a business or home network. But if it has Untrusted network under My Current Network, click **SHOW SETTINGS**

Click **I trust this network**

Under My Current Network it will now have Trusted Network
