Note the current state of the server on the server card.

Clicking on the card will showcase more details on the right hand sidebar.

Now, in order to update a server, it must be in a stopped state. In order to stop a server, click the "Stop" button on the server card. If the button says "Start", it is already in a stopped state.

Next, click the check box on the server card. Note that only one server can be selected at a time for the update flow to be enabled.

Once a server has been selected, the pencil icon will highlight. Click it to navigate through the update flow of the wizard.

The server we are updating is based on a "JupyterLab" IDE. The user will not change this, but note that the IDE or Dashboard type can be changed during the update flow. See the "Create Server" walkthrough for more details.

To see the existing file or folder selection, select the corresponding file operation card, "Select File/Folder".

The file tree will navigate to the corresponding folder. Scroll down to see the existing selection, in this case a folder named "spaceSimulator", highlighted in a teal color. Note the title of this step "Select File or Folder (optional)", which denotes that a user can select a file, a folder, or nothing at all.

Test by changing the selection. In this case, select a file such as "test.ipynb" file.

The server previously used a "Dedicated CPU Medium (4 CPU, 7.5Gb RAM)" hardware selection. Select "Shared CPU Medium (4 CPU, 7.5Gb RAM)" instead to test a new hardware option.

During the update flow, the environment modules are preselected according to the existing server metadata. Further, modules are combined by name, so when one is selected, the entire row is highlighted in a teal color.

Click the plus button to reveal the selected option, in this case "python-data-science 0.1.9". Click the radio button for "0.1.10" to change the selection.

On the final step of the server wizard, during the update flow, the same name and description can be used, but it can also be changed as needed. In this case, keep the name of the server the same.

Click the "Description" field and remove some text.

In this case, the "Updated" text is removed.

Uncheck the "Launch" button if you do not wish to immediately start the server after updating it.

On the update flow, the button will say "Update Server". Click this button to update the server. The wizard will close at this point.

Note the updated server metadata according to the selections on the wizard.

On the right hand sidebar, the you can verify the file path, environment, and hardware updates.

Next, click the "Start" button on the server card to start the server.

Finally, once the server has been started, the "Launch" button will be enabled. Once clicked, it will open the JupyterHub application in a new tab.

Note that the correct file "test.ipynb" has been opened on the JupyterLab application.
