This tutorial assumes you've followed the steps described in the tutorial **Creating a Project** in this series.

Once you have an empty AI Hub project, you should upload files of the same type that your project will process in production

There are three ways to do this

To upload one or more individual files, click **files**

To upload a folder of files, click **folders**

To upload files from an external storage facility (such as an S3 bucket, Azure blob storage, or Google Drive folder) that's already been mounted to your AI Hub organization or workspace, click **drives**

You can also upload files or folders by dragging them from your local computer's desktop to this portal, or onto the main project page.

We want to upload a single local file, so we click **files**

We select a file in the file picker (not shown here). In this case, it's a bank statement

If the files have tables or checkboxes that you to extract, enable the **Tables** and/or **Checkboxes** buttons

In this case, the bank statement has transactions listed in a table, so we'll enable that option

The project uploads and digitizes (performs OCR) on each file you selected

Monitor the progress in the bottom left of the page

If you need to adjust the **Tables** and **Checkboxes** settings later, you can do so from the **Settings** icon in the top right

In the center panel, view the document you just uploaded

To add more files to your project later, click the **Add files** icon in the top left
