After your items have been request, approved & purchased. Head to the Receive module 

Open the Purchase order of the items you wish to receive.

For this Order we have only received 6 out of the 8 items. Click Receive items when ready.

Let's open the Accounts Payable module now that we have received some of the items from our order. Select Create Bill.

Choose the Vendor & the Purchase order from the drop-down menu.

The Bill will automatically show that there has only been 6 out of the 8 items ordered received.

Click the . . . option to edit the PO Details & click Edit Item.

Click the . . . option to edit the PO Details.

Change the Quantity from 8 to 6, the amount received. Select Save once done

We can now Submit the bill for approval. This process ensures only received items are able to be billed.
