How to Enroll in a Catalyst Education Course via Canvas

This guide walks you through the process of accessing your course modules via Canvas to set up your Catalyst (Labflow or Spark) account. Please have the Labflow or Spark student enrollment instructions (provided by your instructor or TA) open next you. You will follow these steps to enroll in the Labflow or Spark course once. After, you will still follow this link to access your course materials, but you will not need to enroll again.

Canvas Course Navigation

In your **Canvas** account, select the appropriate course.

Go to the **Modules** page.

**Click the link** to the Catalyst course. This may be labeled as **Labflow** (for lab courses) or **Spark** (for lecture courses).

Click the "**Load Labflow Prod in a new window"** button.

Account Setup

You will now be brought to the Catalyst website, where you will be see the **"Terms of Use for Catalyst Education and Affiliated Sites."**

Scroll to **read the terms and services**, then click **"Yes"** to agree and proceed.

**Create a password** for your new Catalyst account, and **enter your university student ID number**.

Click **"Complete Setup."**

Course Enrollment

You will now see the **section enrollment** window. Enter the **section enrollment code**, provided by your instructor. *Please note that the section enrollment code is typically less than 8 characters, and is different than the 16-character access code you might have from an inclusive access program or purchased from the campus bookstore.*

Click **"Continue."**

Confirm your section details by **choosing the first day of the week that your course meets**.

Click **"Complete Enrollment."**

We recommend using the **Pay later** option in the payment window, unless you already have an access code or are certain you will be remaining in the course.

Course Access

You will now have access to your Catalyst (Labflow or Spark) course! **Please continue to use the Canvas link when access your Labflow or Spark course each time you need to login in.**
