Creating custom annotations is great way to define your celltypes or other differential features for later comparison ([see compare scribe](https://scribehow.com/viewer/Comparing_Regions__QohpkvnrQMuYeFT3R3whCA))
1
Click "lasso select" to select a custom region. Once clicked you can circle the region of interest.
2
Once you have your region, click "Select observation..."
If your selection needs adjustment, the white circles in the lasso selection can be individually adjusted.
3
Either add to a previous observation or create a new observation to categorize your lasso select.
4
Then name the datapoints you have selected.
5
Click "Add cells" to add the annotation to that group
6
We then made an ACTB high filter and added these lasso selected points to a new category within the observation (ACTB_high)
Any datapoint can only have 1 identity in an observation. If selected again it will be reassigned to the next annotation. If multiple annotations are needed, create another observation with the alternative annotation.
7
This observation is now available in the categorical observations section of the viewer. Click the paint can to visualize it on your dataset.
8
Click the eye next to null to filter off the unselected data points for visualization of only your annotations
Save Annotations for Future Sessions
9
Click "Save H5 Data" to save your custom H5 Viewer annotations for future sessions
