How to Submit a Syllabus Assignment in Canvas

Follow this guide to successfully navigate the LBCC Academic Catalog/ public Course Outlines of Record (COR) to ensure the accuracy of your SLOs and submit your required course syllabi. These steps ensure you correctly locate your specific course SLOs and then finalize your submission within the Canvas platform.

Navigate to your School-level Syllabus Submission Shell in Canvas and select your department's assignment to begin your submission.

Click "Start Assignment"

Click "[LBCC's Academic Catalog](https://lbcc-next.courseleaf.com/courses/)".

Scroll to "Courses"

Click on the first letter of the course you teach (or scroll down until you find it). This guide will use READ 84 as an example.

Click on the course you will teach. We are using "READ 84 - Analytical Reading" as our example.

Scroll past "Student Learning Outcomes & Course Objectives" to the "Student Learning Outcomes" section.

Highlight and copy the Student Learning Outcomes (but NOT the Course Objectives).

Switch to your School-level Syllabus Submission Shell / department's assignment page to begin yoru submission in Canvas.

Scroll to the bottom of the assignment and click into "Comments..." box.

Paste the SLO language that you copied from the COR into the "Comments" box.

Click "Choose a file to upload," and upload your properly named syllabus/syllabi.

Click "Submit Assignment".

Scroll back to the top of the screen to verify that your files have been submitted. If so, you have completed this submission and can repeat the process for any other course(s) you are teaching.
