Priority Bind with Ascend

This is a how-to guide for billing insureds for PPEs/wholesalers that require payment in order to bind a policy (priority bind).

Useascend

This feature needs to be configured by Ascend before it can be used. If you're uncertain if this has been enabled for your agency please contact your Ascend representative.

Navigate to [https://dashboard.useascend.com/programs](https://dashboard.useascend.com/programs)

Click "New program"

Click "Import from AMS" or "Import document" depending on how you want to create the program

When you are selecting the priority bind company, ensure to select the option that says "Used by Your Agency". This specific option has been configured for priority bind. Selecting any other "Brazos" for example, will delay the priority bind process

Complete the rest of the program information as you normally would and click "Save Program"

From the program detail page, click on "Payment" in the transactions table

Turn off ACH to require a same-day payment method. Your insured should not be able to pay with ACH or priority bind will be delayed.

Once complete, click "Send email" to trigger automated payment reminders to your insured

Once the insured's downpayment is received, the full net premium payout to the priority bind company is released same-day when approved by your agency's accountant.

Once the insured has submitted a down payment, you can view the status of theh payout to the priority bind company under the "Carrier/Wholesaler" tab of the transactions table.

Payouts are released by 3p PST each day. Contact your Ascend representative if you have any concerns.

Click the download button to download a payment confirmation that can be shared with the priority bind company.
