Create and Edit a Program

**This guide provides Learning Partners with a step-by-step approach to creating and editing programs in Workday Learning**. Programs allow you to combine courses and standalone lessons into a comprehensive curriculum.

Navigate to your Workday dashboard.

In the search bar type "Create Program". Click on the "Create Program" task that appears in the dropdown.

Check the "Requires Enrollment" box to enforce any business process approvals before a learner can begin the program.

Click "Add Content"

A program allows you to pull in courses and lessons that are already available in Workday Learning.

Check the appropriate boxes for each learning component within the Program. Check "Skip Enrollment Approval" to allow learners to bypass additional approvals and streamline the learning experience. They will still need to adhere to initial approvals associated with the Program prior to enrollment.

Checking "Requires Successful Completion" makes the content mandatory for successful program completion.

If you check "Recognize Course Expiration Dates," the program cannot be marked as complete until the learner meets the course expiration rule requirements.

Check the "Recognize Previous Completions" checkbox to allow existing completions of this content to satisfy the program requirements. If selected, specify whether all previous completions are recognized or only those within a specific date range. If you select both the "Recognize Course Expiration Dates" and "Recognize Previous Completions" boxes, the previous completions will count toward Program completion until their expiry date. Expired learning content must be retaken for the program to complete. If you leave the "Recognize Course Expiration Dates" box unchecked, but select "Recognize Previous Completions", expiry is ignored and the program will complete even if some content is expired.

Click "Submit" to create the Program.

Edit a Program

Type "Edit Program" in the search bar and click on the task.

Find the Program you want to edit by choosing from the dropdown menu or typing in the name, select the versioning option that aligns with the task, and then click "OK". *See Create and Edit a Blended Course for an explanation of versioning.*

After making the desired edits, click "Submit" to apply your changes.
