Manage Grading and Attendance

Workday

**This guide walks Learning Partners through the process of recording attendance and assigning grades**. This is especially important if a course has lessons within it that have been set up to track attendance and/or grades. If attendance and grades are not updated, the course will display as "In Progress" on the learner's transcript, rather than "Completed".

Navigate to [Workday](https://wd12.myworkday.com/williammary/d/home.htmld).

Click the "Search" field and type "Manage Grading and Attendance".

Click "Manage Grading and Attendance" from the results list.

Click the "Course Offering" field and type in or choose the intended course.

Select the relevant course offering.

Click "OK"

Select the learner from the "In Progress" grid and then click "OK".

Attendance and grading must be completed for "Lessons" before completing the "Overall Grade" task. Click on "Lessons" to begin the "Manage Grading and Attendance" task.

You can manually enter attendance and grades for the lessons where they are required (especially if you have multiple enrollees).

Or you can check the boxes "Mark all as Attended" and/or "Mark all as Passed" if that is applicable.

Don't forget to mark grading and attendance for all applicable lessons. Overlooking the grading and/or attendance for lessons that are marked as being tracked will result in the course showing as "In Progress" on the learner's transcript, rather than completed.

Click "OK" when you have completed the grading and attendance tasks for each lesson.

Select the row(s) for the learner(s) you want to update the Overall Grade. You have the option to manually update each field or you can select "Mark selected rows as Attended" or "Mark selected rows as Passed".

Click "OK" to submit.

You can verify that the steps were completed successfully by viewing the learner's transcript and noting if the course shows as "In Progress" or completed. Contact [askHR@wm.edu](mailto:askHR@wm.edu) with questions.
