How to Connect a Director to an Entity

Learn how to connect Directors to an Entity profile in SILO, record appointment and vacated office dates, and maintain an accurate director register.

Locate the **Entity Profile** you would like to connect the **Director** to

Navigate to the **Connections** tab.

Click **Edit**.

New Connection Setup

Click **Add** within the **Directors** section.

Search for the profile you would like to add as a director.

Click **Create** to add the selected profile as a director.

Click **Save**.

As no **Appointment Date** has been recorded, the director's **Role Status** is shown as **Connected**. The Role Status will automatically update when appointment or vacated office dates are added.

Connection Status Update

Click **Edit** to modify the connection.

Click **Edit** for the relevant director entry.

Enter the **Date of Appointment** and click **Update**.

Click **Save**.

Note that once an **Appointment Date** has been recorded, the **Role Status** automatically updates to **Active**.

Connection Termination

Click **Edit**.

Click **Edit** for the relevant director entry.

Enter the **Date Vacated Office** and **Notification of Resignation**, then click **Update**

Click **Save**.

Once a **Date Vacated Office** has been recorded, the **Role Status** automatically updates to **Removed**. **Note:** Maintaining director appointments within SILO provides a live director register and removes the need to maintain separate records in Word or Excel. Keeping director records up to date also helps improve reporting accuracy and supports the review of active and former directors.
